| | Eligibility Criteria | : | 1. The beneficiaries shold belong to Scheduled Castes 2. In order to be eligible for assistance under this scheme, an organization should have the following characteristics- (a) Registered under the societies registration act, 1860(XXI of 1860) or any relevant Act of the State or UT (b) A public trust registered under the law for the time being in force (c) A charitable company licensed under section 25 of the companies act 1958 (d) Indian Red cross Society or its branches (e) Any other public body or institution having a legal status of its own (f) The voluntary organisation should have been registered for atleast 2 years at the time of applying for grants under the scheme. This can however, be wavied by the secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in exceptional cases. (g) Number of Scheduled caste beneficiaries is not less than 60 percent. (h) Any other organisation is may be approved by the secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. (i) It is not run for profit to any individual or a body of individuals. |
| | How to avail | : | The State Government will forward proposals of reputed NGOs duly recommended by the State Level Multi-Discilinary Grant-in-Aid Committee to the Ministry.The Ministry will examine the proposals on merit and sanction funds to the NGOs, subject to fulfillment of schematic conditions and notional allocation of funds. |
